Category's Explained

How the category's work

We want to include and ecotage all riders of all disciplines to take part in this new and exciting race series. So we would split you into 2 main category’s MTB (mountain Bike) and Cyclocross (drop handle bar). We would then sub categorise you into your respective Age, Gender and a new category Ability

See below the diagram that shows how each category will be sorted and then how we might mix some category’s to make it a more competitive group.

Once you have chosen your respective category we will then collect you all in your selected category and race you against each other.

For example if you choose 19-45 / Male / Sport you will then be racing against everyone else who selects these categories. But in the actual races you will be against various other categories as well so it always worth pushing for that position.

Frequently Asked Question's

Will I be racing against someone on a MTB if im on a Cyclocross bike?

Yes, but you’re only racing people in your own category so it doesn’t matter if a MTB bike finishes in front of you because you would be the first cyclocross bike.

What happens if I am the only one in my category?

If this does occur we will move your race entry with your permission to a similar category of racing ability.

If I get a mechanical issue on the day would do I do?

In-between each race you have around 1 hour to fix any issues we will also have 2 registered mechanics on site to sort any major issues before the next race. If we cannot fix the issue unfortunately that is the end of your race day.

How come there are so many categories?

We wanted to make sure we had a set amount of categories so we can separate all racers in an equal fashion to make racing as fair as possible and give everyone the best chance of racing against similar competitors.
